slide from the NK collection. - Delta Air Transport operated six Metropolitans between 1972 and 1977; this one flew for IBERIA for its first 15 years of life before joining the Delta Air Transport fleet in 1972. The last operator of it was Air Resorts (N44825), who eventually put the aircraft into storage at Carlsbad CA, where it was seen in 1990 and again in 1997.

Delta Air Transports Convairs and DC-6Bs were amongst the last piston engine propliners to frequent the skies of the Low Countries (and Southend in England!)
