Ex G-ACWJ. Privately owned but tested by the Dutch army during an exercise on 7 July 1936. Lt Hein Schmidt-Crans. He crashed at Soesterberg that afternoon, suffering a downdraft and hitting two busses filled with children. No one was hurt but the autogyro was 'crushed'. Reg cancelled in January 1938. The wreck was returned to Cierva at Hanworth in 1938. Impressed as AP508 in June 1940 for radar calibration work. Ditched off Seaton by P/O Raymond Pullin on 16 April 1941. Built in 1934 and registered to J.L.Tiedemands Tobaksfabrik (Oslo) in August 1934. Canceled in February 1935 and became 99 with Hærens flyvåpen. Later flying around in Sweden as SE-AFI. After an accident in 1951, the arcraft was stored. It is part of the collection since 1962, after being donated to the museum by K. Overman. The real PH-HHH (c/n 712) was also built in 1934 and initially registered G-ACWJ in July 1934. It became PH-HHH in January 1935. To the RAF in June 1940 as AP508 (until 1941).
