On active duty with Hawkins and Powers Aviation, deployed to Alaska for the 1997 summer wildfire season. Seen here readying to depart from Fort Wainwright, heading for McGrath. Half an hour after takeoff, returned on three engines. Built for the USAF as KC-97G 52-2698. Upgraded to a KC-97L in 1964, serving latterly with the Illinois ANG. As N1365N, converted to a civil fire bombing tanker in 1982, operating initially as "84" with Hemet Valley Flying Service. Leased by Hawkins & Powers in 1985 then purchased in 1991, based at Greybull , Wyoming.
