One of fourteen aircraft destroyed at Beirut International Airport on 28th December 1968 by Israeli commandos in retaliation for a Palestinian attack on an El Al B707 at Athens two days earlier.

Photo dated 1955 by the source but this Viscount was built for MEA in 1957, and the titles indicate that the photo is from the 1960s. When this airframe returned from a lease to Jordan Airways in January 1964, MEA had taken over Air Liban and aircraft wore dual titles for a while. The Air Liban name was dropped in 1965. Delivered to MEA as OD-ACW in 1957 then to Aloha Airlines as N7410 in 1965. This was the second Viscount registered as N7410. Damaged beyond repair at Honolulu in 1969 when it taxied into Hawaiian DC-9 N906H due to brake failure. Photo shows damage to the nose and parts being removed after the accident.

Although registered in Malawi to Air Malawi, 7Q-YDL was extensively used by Air Rhodesia on internal services, with and without titles as she is seen here at Victoria Falls in November 1977. After the two Viscounts "Hunyani" and "Umniati" were shot down by hand-held missiles in 1978 and 1979, the polished metal and black surfaces were painted in anti-missile grey.

This measure was taken after the the two Viscounts "Hunyani" and "Umniati" were shot down by hand-held missiles in 1978 and 1979.

Probably taken on a Saturday as the Air Malawi flight to Blantyre used to be on the ground at the same time as BA052, the Standard VC10 to Entebbe-Frankfurt-London. Delivered to MEA as OD-ACV in 1957. To Central African Airways as VP-YTE in 1961, Air Malawi as 7Q-YDL in 1968, Aviation Equipment, Spares and Service as ZS-KJG in 1979 and Air Zimbabwe as VP-WJI in 1980. Reregistered as Z-WJI in 1983. Withdrawn from use at Harare in 1984 and scrapped around 1992.

Captured in the setting mid-winter sun on the highveld of Johannesburg, VP-WAR is carrying the original Air Rhodesia colours. This colour scheme was changed with the arrival of the Boeing 720s from 1973 onwards.

First flown at Hurn on 29 August 1957 at Hurn as part of an order for BOAC Associated Companies. The first operator was Middle East Airlines where c/n 240 flew as OD-ACU. MEA sub-leased OD-ACU to Jersey Airlines before purchasing it from BOAC for lease to Jordan Airways in 1961. Returned to MEA in 1964, it was sold to Air Rhodesia as VP-WAR in 1968. In 1976 it was sold to Aviation Hire & Travel as ZS-JPU and leased to Swazi Air. Re-registered 3D-AAL the same year, it remained on lease to Swazi until 1979 when returned for lease to Air Rhodesia. Sold to Air Zimbabwe in 1981 and scrapped in 1986

This aircraft became 9Q-CVF some time in 1990 and was last seen gunrunning at Point Noire, Congo on the 1st of Oct 1997. Fate is unknown
