Seen carrying advertising for a magazine, this Moth had an interesting subsequent career. Bought by the Swedish state, it arrived in Svalbard by ship on 2 July 1928 to take part in the rescue efforts following the crash of the airship Italia. Its commander Umberto Nobile had been rescued by a Swedish Fokker C.V, but that plane crashed during its next landing on the survivors' ice floe. Flying the lighter Moth, Birger Schyberg managed to pick up the C.V's pilot, Lt Einar Lundberg. The Moth then served in the Swedish air force until a crash in 1930. After an extensive rebuild it flew as SE-ADZ until 1950.

VH-UAH flew with Kingsford Smith Flying School from 1934 to 1941. During this time it suffered two significant accidents. The wreckage was sold after the second, at Ettalong Beach on November 13, 1941, with the intention UAH be rebuilt. It never was. When it was placed on floats is not known. The photo is over Botany Bay, which adjoins what was then Mascot airport and is now Sydney International Airport.

RAAF aircraft A7-14 that was transferred in 1932 to the Civil Aviation Branch of the Defence Department, then responsible for civil aviation. Crashed in 1933 and then struck off the register in 1934. Rebuilt by the RAAF and returned to the CAB in 1936. Sold to the RQAC in 1939 but a year later was back with the RAAF, impressed as A7-85. At some time in RQAC service swapped its Cirrus engine for a Gipsy. Photo from: State Library of Queensland
