On static display at Greenham Common's 1974 International Air Tattoo in the colours of the Empire Test Pilots School, Boscombe Down. Constructed in 1959 as a Twin Pioneer Series 1, G-APRS. Converted to a Series 3. Transferred to the Ministry of Technology in 1965 for ETPS use as XT610. In 1975 joined Flight One at Staverton, Gloucestershire, as G-BCWF and flew with them on aerial survey work until 1991. Restored as G-APRS by the Air Atlantique Group in 1993 for pleasure flying and airshow displays.

In 1961 the aircraft was converted to a CC.2 with the 640hp Leonides engines. In 1965 it served with No. 21 Sqn. at Bahrain and was struck off charge in 1969. The STOL type equipped six RAF squadrons and was used during the Malayan Emergency.

Nice to catch this superb exhibit in the sunshine outdoors. Built as a CC.1 and one of 39 Twin Pins which served with six RAF squadrons in the transport, supply dropping, photo survey and casualty evacuation roles (and even as a light bomber). Saw widespread active service in Aden from delivery to 78 Sqdn in 1958 till 1966 when she returned to the UK and now housed as part of the National Cold War Exhibition at Cosford
