This aircraft is now preserved at the Texas Air and Space Museum, located at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport in Amarillo, TX.

Ex-USAAF TC-47B 44-76967 & US Navy R4D-7 99848, this aircraft was retired to the MASDC "Boneyard" at Tucson in 1972 and acquired by Lee County Mosquito Control as N833M in 1975. Sold to Associated Intl. Inc. of Tampa, FL., in September 1983 and passed to Apollo Airlines of Orlando, FL., in March 1984, it was transferred to Four Star Aviation Inc. of St. Thomas, VI., as N134FS in June 1988. Tragically the aircraft was destroyed, and the 2 crew killed, on 10th May 1991 when it crashed due to loss of power from the left engine shortly after take-off from Aguadilla-Borinquen Airport, PR.

Restored to flying condition in 1985 and used in the FAA's aviation educational programs to promote aviation and the FAA's heritage. Last flight to the Texas Air & Space Museum in Amarillo, Texas in 2014.

This aircraft was built as R4D-7 and converted to TC-47K in 1962. In entered service with the US Army in 1964. The year in which this photo was taken needs confirmation. This aircraft crashed on 10 May 1991 as N134FS.
