Originally built in 1972 as a Learjet 25, this is one of only five later classified as a Learjet 28 by virtue of the new wing design and winglets apparently added in 1977. Originally intended as a tested for the Learjet 55, the modifications demonstrated excellent climb performance but were ultimately unsuccessful as the winglets meant deletion of the tip-tanks and therefore reduced range. Still shows in records as a Learjet 25

Operated by American Capital Aviation. This Lear was an occasional visitor to Luton and Heathrow in 1980/81.

American Capital Aviation operated a B727-200, a DC-9, and an early LearJet 25 in their company colours. This Lear was sold again in 1985, and its final operator was Kalitta. They retired the aircraft after some years of cargo duties as N76CK; it was seen at Willow Run MI in derelict conditions in 2016.

At this time McDonnell-Douglas was building DC-9 wings at the old Avro Canada facility located here so this Learjet, registered to them, was a common sight. Registration expired as N692FG prior to 2020.
