How many Italian roundels can be caught in one picture? The Fiat G46 was an Italian trainer aircraft and was also exported to Argentina and Austria. About 223 were built and some of these are still airworthy in civilian hands today.

The type was the first all-metal trainer for the AMI, its development heavily dependent on foreign sales. Especially an order from Argentina for 70 aircraft, including this one, made the difference. Later, this airplane served with the Syrian and Austrian forces as well, before returning to Italy as I-AELM with the Air Defence Ministry in 1964. Was restored to taxiing condition and displayed as such in 2007 at Pratica di Mare.
