Delivered to Sudflug as D-ACEB then to Swissair as HB-IFX in 1968. To Texas International as N538TX in 1981 who merged into Continental Airlines in 1982. Reregistered as N12538 in 1993. To Million Air Charter as ZS-OLN in 1999 then to 1Time in 2005. Withdrawn from use at Johannesburg in 2007 and scrapped in 2009.

This DC-9 was delivered to Südflug as D-ACEB in May 1968. After five months it went to Swissair as HB-IFX where it served until 1982 when it went to Texas International as N538TX. After serving with Continental and Eastern, it was sold to Millionair Charter as ZS-OLN in 1999. It stayed with Millionair until retired in 2007. Millionair leased it to a number of operators in that period: Zimbabwe Express, Ghana Airways, Sun-Air, Afrinat, 1Time, and the United Nations.

One of two DC-9s ordered by German independent airline Sudflug, but never operated. In financial difficulty, the airline was bought by Lufthansa in 1968 and later folded into Condor Flugdienst. The DC-9s were acquired by Swissair before entering service, this one delivered in October 1968. Sold to Texas International in December 1981 as N538TX, it would fly on with Continental Airlines. The aircraft was last registered ZS-OLN since August 1999.
