'City of Santa Monica' pushing back for departure at Zurich Airport on a grey winters day. Delivered new to KLM on 21 Jul 1980 as PH-DOB, this was a late build model 30. Sold to TWA on 21 Apr 1989 as N944U. To Midway Express as N602ME on 11 Nov 1992. Sold to Cebu Pacific Airlines of the Philippines on 07 Oct 2003 as RP-C1546. To Orion Airlines as N367PN on 06 Nov 2008 and stored at Manila. Still stored as of 04Oct14 at MNL.

Sold in the US as N367PN in November 2008 but remained stored at Manila. Scrapped?

First flown 16 May 1980 at Long Beach, delivered new to KLM June 10 1980. KLM flew DC-9s to FBU from 1968 until 1988. 21 April 1989 N944U for TWA until wfu 1991. 1992 to Midwest Express, to N602ME in 1993. Wfu 22 July 2003 and stored at Mojave 7 October 2003 RP-C1546 Cebu Pacific, painted in "Paradise" special colours. 2006 wfu at Manila, broken up there in 2015.

I found it odd that an airliner not used on long haul intercontinental services was named Santa Monica. But strangely enough in April 1989 it was sold to Trans World Airlines (TWA) as N944U.

This frame was originally delivered to KLM Jul 80 as PH-DOB. To TWA in Apr 89 as N944U and to Midwest in Nov 92. To Cebu Pacific Air Oct 2003 as RP-C1546. Noted stored Manila Jul 2006. Broken up circa 2015.
