Delivered to the USAAF as C-54B 44-9023 then sold as NC88818 in 1945. Converted to DC-4 conversion #10 in 1946 for Western Air Lines. Reregistered as N88818 in 1949. To Guest Aerovias Mexico as XA-MAA in 1956, Aerovias Panama as HP-256 in 1957. Reregistered as HP-268 in 1958. Sold as N9236R then to Lloyd Aereo Boliviano as CP-682 in 1960. Back to N9326R then to Aviation Traders as G-ASHZ in 1962 and converted to Carvair #9. To British United Air Ferries in 1963. Renamed to British Air Ferries in 1970. Sold as N89FA in 1979. Had a number of owners. Still current on the register in 2022.

Owned and operated by Bob McSwiggan. Although no specific date can be found it was reported as having suffered a nosewheel collapse landing at Opa Locka in "March 2000". This photo being taken on 28 March 2000 may well be after repairs or before the incident. The aircraft did go on to fly again.

The operator at the time was Academy Airlines.

Amazing that none of these Carvairs have been preserved.

A text book arrival over the threshold at its home base for BAF's Maasbrug.

BAF's Carvair 'Maasbrug' rolling out on runway 24 with the hulk of Moormanair's crashed DC-3 PH-MOA, and the last Carvair nose from the last batch of 3 new-built Carvair noses under the starboard wing.

Fat Annie made an appearance at the 2005 World Free Fall Convention. With engines running, the last of 100+ sky divers board through the nose door. They exited through the rear door during two passes of the airport drop zone.

This aircraft hauled 100+ jumpers during the event, which is thought to be a world's record.

Despite reports of this aircraft being withdrawn from use after a nosewheel collapse, it is currently active and based at Tara Field, Hampton, Georgia. Replaced crashed sister ship N83FA
