Registered to Air Holdings as G-AXOY in October 1969, this Vanguard was originally Air Canada's CF-TKU. In May 1970 it became Air Viking's first aircraft, registered TF-AVA. They later operated a CV-880 and Boeing 720s, but the Vanguard was returned in January 1971, going back to Iceland with Thor Cargo as TF-JEJ. Returned in October 1971 and was taken up by Invicta international in February 1972. To Europe Air Service in 1975, stored and eventually scrapped at Perpignan in 1983

slide scan from the NK collection. - G-AXOY was one of seven Vanguards of Invicta and stayed with the airline from 1972 until 1975. Sold to EAS / Europe Aero Service as F-BXOH, it was transferred to Perpignan in November 1975; however, it was used for spares only at Perpignan and did not fly again.

Awaiting delivery to Invicta on 2nd May 1972. Note the tail titling "Rolls Royce VC9". This had read "Roll Royce V952 Prop Jet" while with its previous operator, Thor Cargo, and is one of the few references to the post-war civil design designations used by Vickers with the Vanguard being the "Vickers Commercial 9". The Viking having been the VC1 and the system more commonly known for the VC10. To EAS as F-BXOH in November 1975 and used for spares at Perpignan.

Delivered to Invicta International Airlines on the 2nd May 1972. Went to EAS ( Europe Aero Service) as F-BXOH in November 1975 (registration not applied to the aircraft). In storage at Perpignan 18 October 1980 still with its UK registration applied. Finally scrapped in April 1983.

This V.952 was first CF-TKD with TCA operating their inaugural westbound Trans Canada service with the type on 1.2.61 from Montreal to Vancouver. Sold to Air Holdings by Air Canada in 7.69 becoming G-AXOY. After a lease to Air Viking in 1970, to Thor from 2-6.71 (also had TF-JES). With Invicta 5.72-11.75 and operated the UK's last Vanguard passenger service, a LTN-LTN charter on 26.10.75. Bought by EAS as F-BXOH but never entered service being used for spares at Perpignan; broken up by the Eighties
