VH-ALU was a regular on the Australian air show circuit in the 1980s and 1990s but was overweight and underpowered. It ended with the Australian War Museum which transferred it to Oakey. The DR1 is connected to the Army because Australian troops shot down Baron Von Richthofen.

Imported to Australia privately, but subsequently acquired by the Australian War Memorial and loaned to the RAAF Museum. Relinquished by the RAAF Museum and believed to reside today, unregistered, at the Army Museum of Flying, Oakey. Photographed at the final Open Day at RAAF Laverton before the airfield was closed.
