The second prototype of the GAF Nomad first flew in April 1972 as VH-SUR, it was leased to the Australian Army in 1973 as A18-002 but soon after written off in a landing accident. The Aircraft was repaired and returned to the Army which in turn used the aircraft as an instructional airframe with the fake serial A18-300. Nowadays the Nomad is preserved with the Museum of Australian Army Flying.

Sold as VH-TVC

Ex Vietnam veteran. Set aside as an instructional airframe in 1975 and sent to the RAAF apprentice school at Forest Hill in New South Wales. Passed around a couple of museums before being reported in the hands of an aircraft restorer.

To Indonesia as H-4708.

A1-406 was delivered in 1965 and withdrawn from use and stored in 1973. Became a training aid at RAAF Forest Hill in 1977.

VH-ALU was a regular on the Australian air show circuit in the 1980s and 1990s but was overweight and underpowered. It ended with the Australian War Museum which transferred it to Oakey. The DR1 is connected to the Army because Australian troops shot down Baron Von Richthofen.

Originally built as flying replica of a Bristol Tourer for use in a film about Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith. Registered VH-UDR. Converted a Bristol F2B Fighter of the Australian Flying Corp after the film. Now a static display.

VH-BOM was donated to the museum in 2007. Its connection with army aviation comes from its close air support role in New Guinea in World War II.

The SC1 was built at Toowoomba, Queensland and made its first flight on March 1, 1961. A recession and competition from Cessna and Piper saw the project cancelled after only 25 hours of test flying. VH-SCA is now displayed in the terminal of Toowoomba Wellcamp airport.
