After years of storage reserved for the National Museum of Naval Aviation , this Lockheed Electra / development prototype for the P-3 Orion was scrapped in 2016.

This P-3 was TOC by the USN with the BuNo. 148276. It was the third of three frames modified into a NP-3A for the US Naval Research Laboratory before being transferred to NASA as, firstly, N927NA and then N428NA. It was on display as an outside exhibit at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida although I believe it has now been scrapped..

This was originally the third Electra prototype before conversion to be the first YP3V-1 Orion. It was preserved outdoors at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Pensacola, Florida for a number of years but unfortunately was scrapped there in 2016.

This Electra, the third one built, was originally an L-188A, but was converted to YP3V-1, then YP-3A and delivered to the Navy as BuNo 148276. It was then converted to NP-3A and used by NASA as 927. It later went to the Naval Air Museum.

Scrapped in 2016.
