When Air Atlantic began operations in 1986, the airline bought two DHC-7s (cn 6 and 7) and leased this one while awaiting delivery of new DHC-8s. Formerly Canadian Air Force 132002, C-GILE was returned to De Havilland Canada in August 1987. Last with Trans Capital Airlines as C-FWYU, the aircraft was withdrawn and stored at Toronto - Billy Bishop City airport in 2017. Used for parts, the registration was cancelled in 2024.

The United Nations contracted this Trans Capital Air owned Dash 7 for work in Haiti with the local UN-mission (MINUSTAH). UN-code ranges are allocated for each mission, the low 100-range was used by MINUSTAH at the time. As the Dash was recently brought in from Afghanistan, it still carried its United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) code 234.

Delivered to the Canadian Armed Forces as 132002 in 1979. Sold as C-GILE in 1985 and operated by Air Atlantic then to Markair as N678MA in 1987 and Conair Aviation as C-FWYU in 1995. Withdrawn from use at Toronto City in 2017. Still there in 2023.

Delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force on 21 September 1979 after conversion to cargo-passenger interior. The aircraft was assigned to 412sq at Lahr in Germany between June 1980 and February 1987. The aircraft was withdrawn from the RCAF on 9 August 1985 and sold as C-GILE.

After six years of military service, aircraft c/n 12 was operated by Markair (N678MA), Conair and Trans Capital as C-FWYU. The last movement was noted in April 1997, when the aircraft returned to Toronto City airport after an assignment to the United Nations.

Most photographed in Europe during the six years with the Air Force or on loan to DeHavilland Canada for display at major air shows, it was sold back to DHC in September 1985. Leased to Air Atlantic as C-GILE before sold to Markair in December 1987. Withdrawn and stored in 1992, the airliner was bought by Conair in November 1995 when the Markair shut down their Alaska operations. Frequently leased out by Conair, it was sold to Trans Capital Air in August 2002.

Built in 1979 as RCAF 132002 and here registered to Conair of forest fire fighting fame. In 2022 it is current and registered to Trans Capital Air.
