Carrying the name "Polar 5" and the logo and titles of the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) in Germany, which carries out Arctic, Antarctic and Marine Research. The badge of the "International Polar Year 2007-2008" is still displayed on the fairing under its nose.

Later converted to BT-67 and with ALCI Aviation and Kenn Borek Air as C-GAWI.
