The fake serial of this C-47 is derived from its Navy serial, 50761, as this aircraft originaly was delivered as a R4D-6 to the US Navy in October 1944. It was later transferred to the US Army and redesignated as an EC-47J. After a short civil career with the US Department of Agriculture and the US Forest Service the aircraft ended up on display near Gate 20 at Tinker AFB in 1984. It became part of the Tinker AFB Heritage Air Park in October 1988, which itself was renamed the Charles B Hall Air Park in 2002.

Intended to be a C-47B (43-49012) for the USAAF, the aircraft was delivered to the Navy as an R4D-6, serial 50761. It was later re-designated as an R4D-6Q. It was transferred to the Army in 1958, then in 1962 was again re-designated as an EC-47J. After retirement from military service it was transferred to the US Departmet of Agriculture in 1976. This aircraft was built as a C-47B in 1944 with USAF serial number 43-49012 and USN Bu number 50761. It operated with the USN and the USMC from 1944 until 1962, when it was tranferred to the US Army. There, it retained the BuNo as its serial. At the time of upload it was on display at Tinker AFB, OK. In the back is another US Army aircraft, 99831. This one is ex USN too, a R4D-7 to be precise.
