Ca.1963 Loaned to the Confederate Air Force for display at Harlingen, TX. 1986: CAF moved to Midland, TX, so the USAF retrieved their display planes and this one was transferred to the Tinker AFB, OK air park.

The fake serial of this C-47 is derived from its Navy serial, 50761, as this aircraft originaly was delivered as a R4D-6 to the US Navy in October 1944. It was later transferred to the US Army and redesignated as an EC-47J. After a short civil career with the US Department of Agriculture and the US Forest Service the aircraft ended up on display near Gate 20 at Tinker AFB in 1984. It became part of the Tinker AFB Heritage Air Park in October 1988, which itself was renamed the Charles B Hall Air Park in 2002.

This B-29 never saw action in World War II but was used in in support of atomic bomb testing hence the white colour scheme. Painting such aircraft white was done in order to reflect the thermal radiation of the nuclear explosion.

1973: TOS USAF and assigned to the 23rd Tactical Fighter Wing, England AFB, LA.. 1983: to 1988 it was with the 146th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 112th Tactical Fighter Group (ANG). Pittburgh, PA. By 8/92:. Displayed at Charles B. Hall Air Park, Tinker AFB.
