This Huey was built as a UH-1D and TOC by the US Army in February 1967 but from August to October it underwent conversion to a UH-1H. From April 1968 until February 1971 it was stationed in Vietnam, after which it was on loan to the University of Michigan, flew as an air ambulance in West Germany and went on loan to NASA, flew as part of the Panama Canal protection force but by 1986 had been transferred to the Illinois ANG before retirement. It is pictured here as part of the Yankee Museum's Vietnam exhibit but was later restored to airworthy status and in September 2019 registered to Northwest Helicopters as N876GM. It was one of two Huey's that YAM traded in for a UH-1 66-1126/N240GH in airworthy condition.

This Blaník was built in 1971 and ended up a long way from home. It was de-registered in September 2013 and now hangs from the ceiling in the super Yankee Air Force Museum building.

This F-4 was in service with the USAF from 1964 until 1988. It is photographed here in the Vietnam War section of this very interedting museum.

Converted to a JF-101B and then to a NF-101B for ejection seat testing. Preserved at the USAF Museum from 1970. Moved to the Yankee Air Museum at Detroit-Willow Run in 1987.

Modified from RF-84F by provision of down-swept tailplanes, hook etc to permit carriage by GRB-36D mothership for specialist 'FICON' photo-recce missions with the 91 SRS, 71 SRW. Later transferred to the USAF Museum.

This Voodoo was delivered to the USAF during September 1957 as a F-101B and transferred to Wright-Patterson AFB for use as a test aircraft. It was then shipped to Ogden AFB and converted to a NF-101B as an ejector-seat testbed. It is now part of the expanding Yankee Air Museum at YIP.

This 43rd BW B-52 from Andersen AFB, Guam is a Linebacker II veteran but is now on (semi-public and rather inaccessible) display at Willow Run as part of the Yankee Air Museum. Is now located at the South end of Willow Run Airport. She will be accessible to visitors once the Roush Aeronautical Center is completed in 2021.

This C-45, previously 51-11839 with the USAF, found a new life as a trailer exhibit for the Yankee Air Museum. Later moved to the Saginaw Valley Air Museum at the Saginaw County H.W. Browne Airport - KHYX, 4805 Janes Rd Saginaw, MI 48601.

The Thunderflash was a photo reconnaissance version of the Thunderstreak with this aircraft being delivered to the USAF during December 1955. It served with the 171 TRS/191 TRG, Michigan ANG at Selfridge AFB, before being SOC in 1971 and placed on display at VFW 4434 at Belleville, MI. It is now part of the interesting Yankee Air Museum at YIP.

This Thunderbirds F-100 is one of the survivors from the terribly sad demise of the Chanute Air Museum at Rantoul. It arrived at YIP during October 2015 and is now part of the very interesting Yankee Air Museum.

This Skymaster is on display at the Yankee Air Museum. Later moved to the Michigan Veterans Museum at the Tuscola-Caro Airport, MI for restoration to flying status as N60BB.

This Colt was delivered originally delivered to Aeroflot as CCCP-32682 and was part of the Yankee Air Museum at YIP. It moved to the Pima Air and Space Museum, Tucson, AZ in 2020.

This Yankee Air Museum F-86 is about to acquire a new scheme in preparation for their move onto a brand new home.
