Back in 2011, Air Greenland already ordered two EC225 to replace its two aging S-61's, but the contract was cancelled in 2014, only to be renewed again in 2019. In due course, two 2nd hand EC225 were delivered to Air Greenland in 2020, one of them being OY-HUW formerly operated as LN-OJM by CHC Norway. Both are reported to have been refurbished and re-equipped by Heli-One Poland from the Oil & Gas configuration for SAR duties. Both EC225 are based in Kangerlussuaq with the goal of one always being on duty like OY-HUW in this picture, visible on the installed rescue hoist.

Air Greenland became a DHC-8 operator in April of 2010, taking delivery of it's first two 2nd hand aircraft that month (OY-GRG & OY-GRH). Air Greenland operates a diverse fleet of aircraft and helicopters, rangeing from the single engine AS350 Airbus Helicopter up to the Airbus A330 airliner. Helicopters always played a vital role in connecting and supplying Greenland's remote communities. In 1996, Air Greenland started to introduce a sole AS-350B2, moving to the more powerful AS-350B3 in 2003. Of a total of 15 delivered AS350B3's so far, nine remain in service at the time of upload, including OY-HGT shown here. In June 2019, this 2007 built airframe was involved in an accident but subsequently rebuilt.

The HE 8 (not He 8, E for monoplane) reconnaissance seaplane was developed for the Danish navy which gave it the HM.II designation. Six examples were bought from Heinkel in 1928 and 16 more produced by the Danish navy yard. Oddly they were numbered in reverse order so s/n 99 was the first one and 78 the last one, built in 1938 when the design was thoroughly obsolete. 87 is seen in the harbour of Nuuk in Greenland.
