N4634 was built and sent to the ELTA exhibition by the Gosport Aircraft Company. Seaplanes for the ELTA used a location at the mouth of a channel, quite exposed to the elements of the IJ Bay. The view is south towards the city centre with the triple-spired Posthoornkerk above the tailplane. Once source says the flying boat was banned from flying by the British Air Ministry, but it did fly at the exhibition, perhaps after the civil registration G-EAIK was validated. Mishap on arrival at the ELTA exhibition, due to the soft ground. Provisional reg G-5414 derived from O/400 s/n F5414, but only the tail of that wrecked bomber was used in this new-built airliner. To G-EAAF, the sixth entry in the G register. According to some this aircraft flew the very first international passenger service later that month on the 25th, from London to Paris with eleven pax. In 1920, G-EAAF was shipped to the USA. Photo from: KB - National Library of the Netherlands

The Kangaroo was designed as a maritime reconnaissance and torpedo aircraft and, although only 20 examples were built, it was employed with some succes against U-boats in 1918. Blackburn subsidiary North Sea Aerial Navigation Co operated eight after the end of the war, converted to carry up to eight passengers. Three of these gave joyrides at the ELTA fair in Amsterdam in August and September 1919, taking an estimated 1400 people up in the air. The same construction number is given for G-EAIT so it may be incorrect. Photo from: Amsterdam City Archives
