7 Apr '45: TOS USAAF with s/n 44-83563 at Hunter Army Air Field, GA, then delivered to Patterson Field, OH. 5/45: Delivered to Philippines. Converted to CB-17G. Ca.6/45: Converted to VB-17G. 7/45: Used by Gen Jimmy Doolittle at Kadena, Okinawa. Also carried Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower. 1952: Returned to the USA for overhaul and then to 6000th Base Service Group, Japan. 1955: Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. With civilian fire-bomber owners it flew in two movies: "The War Lover" and"Tora, Tora, Tora". 1985: National Warplane Museum.

Ca. 8/45: TOS USAAF as A-26B 44-34713. 6/48: Redesignated B-26B. Ca.11/50 to 2/51: Douglas Aircraft and converted to B-26C. 26 Jan 54: Loaned to the French Air Force and served in combat in Indochina. 11/10/55: Returned to the USAF and stored at Clark AFB, Philippines. 1958: Registered N5538V. 1961: N706ME. 1963: Converted to a Marketeer. 1966: N36BB. 1974: N26MR. 1975: N26WB. 1988: National Warplane Museum, Geneseo, NY and converted with an 8-gun nose. 1/25/92: stored at Las Cruces, NM, registered N706ME but still carrying N26WB on the tail.

Delivered to the RCAF in September 1952, this Boxcar was retired in 1965 and transferred to Crown Assets Disposal Corporation for eventual sale. Bought by Hawkins & Powers Aviation for firefighting, it was put on the US registry as N8902 in January 1976. Retired in 1979, the aircraft was stored in the open at Greybull, WY. Transferred to the National Warplane Museum, it was made flyable again and moved to the museum at Geneseo, NY around 1991-92.
