The MiG-19 served in the Bulgarian Air Force from 1958 to 1973. Nevertheless, the type wasn't particularly liked as it suffered from poor engine reliability. Of the 58 total aircraft supplied, some 28 were lost in crashes, killing 15 pilots (resulting an attrition rate similar to the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter). However, the low serviceability and high attrition rate was mainly due to poor maintenance of the engines rather than any deficiency in the type. The Bulgarian AF acquired 12 MiG-19PM from Poland with this example preserved in a (un-named?) park in the village centre..
