This marvelous looking T-28 was retired by the USN, went to storage with code/modex G-749 at MASDC on 2 Nov'83. Initially received inventory code 2T206, but was transferred to USAF as TA163 on 19 Jun'84. On 25 Jul'84, it was moved from storage and sold to Courtesy Aircraft Inc., Rockford (IL) as N5440F. The Trojan entered the airshow circuit but was written off on 13 Mar'19 when it was involved in a landing accident with a Ce152 at Compton-Woodley Airport (CA). The T-28B collided the Cessna from behind at downwind when sun glare in the cockpit resulted in less visibility for the pilot.

Accepted in 1955, this T-28 flew with VT-27 at NAS Corpus Christi, TX then VT-2 at Whiting Field, FL from 1972 till struck off in 1984

Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 1974. To the museum in 1977. Had not yet been restored, the park code can be seen on the engine cowling with an extra 4 on the front of it.

The USAF introduced the T-28 in 1950, the Navy following three years later. The Navy version of the aircraft, the T-28B, differed from the Air Force version primarily in having a bigger engine and a three-blade propeller instead of two-blade. The T-28C added a tail hook for carrier landing training and remained in service till 1984. This one served VT-3 then VT-6, NAS Whiting Field, FL from 1971 till being stored at DM from the end of 1974

Stationed at NAS Whiting Field, FL. Delivered to the US Navy as 140050 in 1956. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB in 1983. Sold in 1986 and registered as N89AW. Current on the register in 2023.

Delivered to the US Navy in May 1956 as 140481. Transferred to the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposal Center (MASDC) with inventory number 5T0027 in December 1974. Loaned to Pima by the National Naval Aviation Museum in March 1977.
