This a/c was operated by the 190th Air Refueling Wing of the Kansas ANG. Originally built as a KC-135A, it was concerted to a KC-135E version circa 1984.

Built as an F-105D, redesignated GF-105D. Used as a ground instructional training a/c at Lackland AFB. Moved from there to the current location in 2012. The 184th Tactical Fighter Training Group of the Kansas ANG was responsible for the training of all ANG F-105 pilots. The unit operated F-105Ds from 1971 - 1979.

This a/c saw combat in Vietnam in the late 1960s. It was assigned to the US Army Precision Demonstration Team Silver Eagles from 1972 - 1975. The Silver Eagles were based at Ft. Rucker, Alabama and performed around the country. The team pilots were picked from the flight instructor cadre at Ft. Rucker. It is marked as the team leader a/c with the number 1 on the vertical fin.

Originally built as a AH-1G and later converted to an AH-1S.
