Doors closing over the wheels as the Northrop Flying Wing takes to the air for a demonstration flight at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Unfortunately the aircraft crashed and was destroyed shortly after takeoff from Chino California on 22 April 2019. Sadly, the pilot did not survive. It was the last of the four of the types built.

That man up front has the ultimate seat in "Fifi" but my seat in the gunners position mid fuselage was pretty good too.

Backtracking to the FBO

Nicely restored and now on display at the Palm Springs Air Museum. This Cobra saw a lot of combat in Vietnam and was struck by enemy fire on four different occasions.

Painted to replicate a Sabre flown by Lt Ken Miles, but actual identity is ex Indonesia AF F-8612 and RAAF A94-972. During restoration it was fitted with the rear fuselage of F-8607/A94-957. On loan to the Palm Springs Air Museum from Kermit Weeks since 2015.

The FW190 replica is a sinister looking thing. Visiting the Air Museum from its home base at Chino. There is an R2800 engine inside that cowl.

One year after its arrival at the Palm Springs Air Museum and a lot of progress has been made on its restoration. The optimism of the crew shows on the temporary nose panel.

US Marines Herc arriving Palm Springs

Civil-built in 1950 as a Model G-58B demonstrator. No military service. Still airworthy in 2018. Carries "8BP" on the left wing underside.

This Spitfire was delivered originally in 1945 to the RAF as NH904 and then in April 1951 to the Force Arienne Belge as SG108. It was used in static scenes for filming the 'Battle of Britain' and was also part of the Strathallan Collection. Restoration to airworthiness was completed in march 1981 and flew as G-FIRE. By December 1988 it had been crated at Duxford and transported by ship to the USA. It the following years, this plane has been associated with various museums & collections and was flown in the filming of the movie Pearl Harbor.

After her USN service this T-28 went to the USFS at Albuquerque, NM between 1966-1972 as N131Z. She then spent some time at MASDC before going to the US Narcotics Force at Tucson, AZ at the end of 78. After some time in corporate ownership she is now part of the Palm Springs Air Museum.
