Early F-14A with PMTC on short final to runway 21

Ordered by the USAAF as 42-12479. Delivered to the RCAF as FE992 in 1943 then to the Swedish Air Force as 16047 in 1947. Registered as LN-MAA in 1972, G-BDAM in 1975, C-GFLR in 2004 and back to G-BDAM in 2017. Current on the register in 2023 in Canadian markings as FE992.

Ex LN-MAA, Swedish AF 16047, RCAF FE992, USAAF 42-12479. Registration cancelled on 30 September 2003 on sale to Canada as C-GFLR, where it flew in RCAF marks. It was restored as G-BDAM on 6 January 2017.

An unmarked Lima (exept for the skull at the engine bay). At the time this picture was made, this Black Hawk was assigned to the 1-111th Aviation Regiment of the 77th Combat Aviation Brigade. The latter was deployed to support Operation Inherent Resolve , the fight against terrorism in Iraq and Syria. Camp Buehring in Kuwait is used for maintenance of the helicopters as well as rest and R&R for the crew.

Pictured in 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School colors from nearby CFB Portage. The Kiowas were replaced in the primary training program with new Bell CH-139 Jet Rangers in 1992 and the Kiowas were returned to tactical helicopter squadrons. This Kiowa survives displayed on a pole outside the New Brunswick Military History Museum at 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown (commonly referred to as CFB Gagetown, it's former name)

This aircraft is painted in the colours of the Norwegian Air Force. It was seen at a Harvard meet at Bassingbourn. The aircraft was sold to Canada in 2003, but returned into the British register in 2017.
