This former USMC Corsair first went to the US civil registry as N5219V in 1959. It was intended for the Honduras AF but was never delivered. After a period of storage in Blythe, CA, the aircraft was transferred to Tucson, AZ, where it was dismantled in 1973 and prepared for shipment to the Korean Aviation/War Museum in Seoul in 1974. Later, it was moved to its current location at Sacheon.

This once fleet Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) Stallion was assigned to Marine Helicopter Squadron (HMX) One from the early ninetees. Although some report this is a VH-53D, that's incorrect as it is a CH-53D in a VIP livery. On its tail, above the BuNo the CH-53D designation is visible. The 53 arrived at AMARC on 29 Nov'95 and received inventory code AN2J0086, it was reactivated with HMX-1 in Oct'02, and returned to AMARG as AN2J119 in Sep'04. The Stallion is seen here leading a row of 26 kindred and was moved to HVF West at Tucson by Mar'21 for scrap.

The final development in a lineage that included the USAF's F-86 Sabre, the FJ-4 shared its general layout and engine with the earlier FJ-3, but featured a new wing and was a greatly different design in its final form. Beautifully restored in its original Marines unit markings, between 1956 and 1959 this FJ-4 operated with VMF-232 "Red Devils" from Kaneohe Bay, HI, the unit in which the FJ-2 suspended overhead in the museum also served. Demoted to the Naval Air Training Unit, NAS Glynco, GA in 1962 and stuck off in 1964 with 2,351 hours logged

Taken on the strength with the Marines in 1962, after loan periods with the USAF and US Army (used by the latter to carry President Kennedy in Dublin), this VH-3 joined HMX-1 in 1966. Among the VIPs carried were Presidents Nixon and Ford. In 1976 it moved to more regular work with the USN's HC-6 and HC-2 at NAS Norfolk and in early 2004 made a ferry flight to Pensacola for the museum where it was restored in its "Marine One" splendour

Records suggest this Banshee did not in fact fly with VMJ-1 which served in Korea as painted, instead remaining in the US with training unit VMJ-2 and later two USN squadrons. After being retired in 1958 it was put on show as a children's plaything in a park at Vero Beach, FL, the cockpit being filled with concrete. From 1989 it underwent an extraordinary restoration at Pensacola for the NAM and is now presented with every instrument correctly in place

Although effectively only a stopgap model until more advanced helicopters were introduced, the HO5S was widely used in the Korean War by the USMC for observation, scouting and medevac. This example is displayed in the colours of VMO-6 with whom it served in Korea before being damaged and returned to the US after a brief detachment in Japan. Moving to VMO-1 at MCAS New River, NC it was civilianised as N8003E by 1963 and entered the Naval Aviation Museum around 1988

Delivered to the USN in February 1948 but transferred to the USMC's VMF-122 at Cherry Point. Damaged in a group loop in September 1948 and crashed twice in 1949, being struck off later that year. Civilianised by Progressive Aero as N4284A (1958?) and owned for a time by National Jets Inc, then Sensormatic Electronics, both in Fort Lauderdale. Joined the National Aviation Museum in 1983
