Delta Airlines was a rare visitor to Toronto, especially with a DC-8, so this evening sighting was most welcome. N805E was delivered to Delta in November 1959 with early Pratt & Whitney JT3C engines. It was later converted to a DC-8-50 with higher by-pass JT3Ds before sold to F B Ayer in 1980. The aircraft was set to go to TAE - Trabajos Aéreos y Enlaces S.A as EC-DKH but was not take up. It was stored at Paris - Charles de Gaulle until scrapped in 1985.

As N8033U it went on to fly with Bahamas World and Transports Aériens Centrafricain (STAC), before the latter re-registered the plane as TL-AHI in May 1979. It became 5A-DGK in November 1979 with United African and then with Jamahiriya Air Transport in June 1983. The plane was scrapped at Luxembourg (ELLX / LUX) in 1985 with the forward section becoming part of the Air Classic Collection on the spectator's terrace at Frankfurt airport. It has now found a nice home at EDES.

Seen stored at Marana. Delivered new to Eastern Airlines as N8606 on 26 April 1960. To Air Spain as EC-CAM from June 72 to March 76 when it repossessed by Eastern as N8606 and stored at Marana. Broken up in 1978 so presumably not long after this photo was taken.
