'Shanghaied' was acquired from the Chinese PLAAF and shipped to Perth, Australia in 1995. Currently based in NSW, it is seen here as part of the 'Russian Roolettes' Yak and Nanchang formation team at the Wide Bay International Airshow.

Normally based at Albury, NSW, but seen here at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's Annual Fly-in.

This Nanchang is normally Goolwa-based, but was visiting Warbird Adventure Flights' Bendigo base. It has acquired a neat spinner since I last photographed it. It was imported in 1981 ex PLAAF and assembled in Canberra, being first registered on 21 August that year.

Military trainer cockpit!

VH-NNB was registered in April 1991. The serial on the fin is similar but not identical to the MSN and was added in Australia. In Chinese military service it carried the code 46

This aircraft carries its former military markings. It left Van Nuys, California on about 15th April and made an emergency landing at Camarillo after an engine failure shortly afterwards. This was caused by a broken connecting rod.

Looking very smart in the livery of the Sri Lankan Airforce. This is not the real CT180, as that was partially destroyed in a terrorist attack on the base at Anuradhapura on 22nd October 2007 along with CT183. The remains of both CT180 and CT183 were combined to make an aircraft for display at the SLAF Museum at Ratmalana AFB Sri Lanka which shows aircraft lost during the conflict and they are in a "dump" type display. The airframe in this image is ex PLAAF.
