LN-KLT was undergoing maintenance at Aviolanda when Polaris went bankrupt in 1969 and stored at Woensdrecht. It was sold in 1975 to B. Mastboom, who removed the engines and sold the aircraft to the local car dealer Emmo van de Veen who displayed LN-KLT at his dealership where it is seen in this photo.

K25 slide scan. Built 1952 as 51-5152 for USAF, converted to VT-29B, retired to MASDC 1975. Civilianized as N2302F for General Air Services, reregistered N452GA 1983. Rhoades 1989, reregistered N152JR 1991. Withdrawn Columbus, IN by 2002, subsequently scrapped, cancelled 2005.

Rhoades changed the registration to N152JR and operated this old freighter for more than ten further years, before they scrapped it at Columbus-Rickenbacker.

Ex N1688. Withdrawn from use at Manilla some time in the early 1990s. Fate at time of upload unknown.

I've seen it worked on from time to time, but when you ask when is it going to fly, the answer is usually, "one of these days".

While the aircraft appears to be in good condition, it is not a good fit for Desert Air's business model and hasn't been flown for quite a number of years.

Sitting at the same spot for many years after its engines were removed to be used in the Buffalo fleet, most likely on one or more CL-215s.

This old Convair was based in Opa Locka and is pictured on very short final for rw08. The plane was originally delivered to the USAF as 51-5147.

Ex USAF 51-7898, to N40CE and then N406E. Acquired by Polaris in Mar 1967. Arrived at Woensdrecht 17 Jun 1968 for maintenance by Aviolanda, but impounded after Polaris went bankrupt in 1969 and stored at Woensdrecht. Sold at auction 21 Mar 1975 to Mr. B. Mastboom, who removed the engines and resold the aircraft to local car dealer Emmo van de Veen. He had the aircraft on display at his company for several years, until sold to the children's playpark "Oud Valkeveen" in Naarden. The aircraft is seen here in the car dealer's yard, probably being prepared for delivery to Naarden. It was trucked there circa Mar 1980, but once there the park's plans with the Convair fell through and it was broken up in the early 1980s.

Owned by Aerospace Dynamics Limited, ex USAF 51-5128. Sold to Bill Sisk Aircraft Sales in 1981. Noted at Port-au-Prince International, Haiti in 1982. Reg cancelled from the US register 15 Jul 2011.
