The 3 Commando Brigade Air Squadron, Royal Marines, became 847 squadron in 1995, which operated this Lynx AH7. As such, it attended the Open Dag Koninklijke Luchtmacht 1997. Unfortunately, it was written off on 6 May 2006 with this unit, after exploding in mid-air and crashing onto the rooftop of a residential building in the centre of Basra (Iraq) with the loss of all on board.
