US Navy 46645 built 1945, to N10013 registered May 1956, to CF-IZO registered June 1956, in 1983 reregistered C-FIZO. In 1990 it was sold to the Forsvarsmuseet at Oslo-Gardermoen and later it went to Bodø for display in the Norsk Luftfartsmuseum. As Norway never had the PBY-6A with the tall fin this aircraft was restored in 1994 with the smaller fin of the PBY-5A and painted as RAF FP535 to commemorate the real FP535 that served with 330 (Norwegian) Sqn and that had disappeared in Nov 1942 near Iceland

This aircraft was last operated by Haydn Air Charter (Norway), on lease from Avalon Aviation, then stored at the East Midlands Airport for some considerable time. After almost 20 years of visiting the airport it was the first time I was confronted by the Security and ramp access rapidly became more difficult.
