Ex 9V-SPA. Converted to freighter in 2011. After only three years sold to Delta Arlines for spares, apparently for the engines. Broken up at Victorville in 2017.

In Feb 2012 KLM Cargo and Kenya Airways formed the "Safari Connection" partnership, under which Martinair operates this 747-400BCF on a Europe-China-Africa triangle. The Chinese 探索非洲新航线 titles on the tail translate to "Explore new routes in Africa". The partnership was not a big success and ended three years later.

Presumably the last aircraft ever to carry the once familiar Martinair colours. The airline was established by aviation pioneer Martin Schröder on 24 May 1958, and absorbed into the KLM Group in late 2008. Martinair ceased passenger services in Oct 2011, focusing entirely on freight services. PH-MPS is ex Singapore Airlines 9V-SMF and Air India VT-AIF, and was acquired in 2008. It is now their only remaining aircraft.

Following the departure of the last Dutch MD-11, PH-MCP, on 8 July 2016, this was the only airliner still flying in Martinair colours.

This was Martinair's first 747-400, formerly 9V-SMA.
