Faux C-121C on display at the AMC Museum with fake serial 40315. The fake registration was the result of the painter using a photo of C-121C 54-153 to purchase his stencils. Not wanting to have the same serial number as 54-153, which is currently on display at Charleston AFB, the museum decided to use a fake serial number. A valid C-121C serial number was used when the aircraft was repainted a few years after this photos was taken.

Aircraft is painted to represent a C-121C military transport aircraft and is on display at the AMC Museum at Dover AFB. The aircraft was never with the USAF and its last civilian registration was N1005C, when it flew for Capitol International Airways. Retired in 1967, it was converted to a cocktail lounge in Penndel, PA. It was disassembled and donated to the AMC Museum in 1997. Its fake military serial number 40315 (54-0315) was assigned to a Northrop F-89H "Scorpion" fighter aircraft.
