At the end of fire season, the Electras were coming back to Red Deer. C-FDTH was on contract to the Yukon Territory

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-92755 then transferred to the RCAF as KG479 in 1944. To Trans Canada Air Lines as CF-TEB in 1946 then to the Department of Transport as CF-DTH in 1961. Reregistered as C-FDTH in 1976. To Buffalo Airways as C-FBAE in 1998 and used for parts at Red Deer. Still there at 52.18267N, 113.8866W on the satellite image in 2021.

Only 56 years old and being prepared for lots more of hard work. Most noticeable are the refurbished propeller blades, detached drop tank and the aircraft being on chocks for landing gear work. On the nose is the colourful badge of the Protective Services - Wildland Fire Management, Yukon, whose air attack program is provided by Air Spray and Conair.

Tanker 498 gets fire retardant stains removed while standing down during British Columbia's 2017 fire season. Originally delivered to Eastern Airlines (N5525) in 1959, the Electra spent another 30 years flying freight before Air Spray bought it in 2011. First registered C-GKIL, Buffalo Airways cancelled the registration on their DC-3 C-FDTH to make it available to Air Spray in 2012.

Wartime C-47 that was delivered to the RAF and seconded to the RCAF, this Dakota was acquired by Trans Canada Airlines in 1946. Airline operated until taken over by Transport Canada in 1961, it's pictured during it's time operating for the Canadian Coast Guard on anti-pollution patrols and ice reconnaissance. Sold to Buffalo Airways in 1998, the aircraft was stored in Red Deer, AB as a parts source. The registration was changed to C-FBAE in 2011 when Air Spray requested use of the C-FDTH registration on one of their Lockheed Electras.

Originally allocated to the RCAF and post-war first served in the Trans Canada Airlines fleet before joining D.o.T. Livery here was light grey undersides, yellow stripes outlined in black with day-glo wingtips, nose and band around fuselage,. It was bought by Buffalo Airways in 1998 but seems to have been used for spares at Red Deer, Alberta.
