Delivered to Safair as ZS-RSI in 1975. To Northwest Territorial Airways as C-FNWY in 1979. Returned to Safair as ZS-RSI in 1980. To SF Air as F-WDAQ then F-GDAQ in 1981. To JetFret in 1987. Returned to Safair az ZS-RSI then to EAS as F-GIMV in 1993. Returned to Safair as ZS-RSI in 1994. To First Air as C-GUSI in 2006 then to Lynden Air Cargo as N408LC in 2015. Reregistered as P4-LAS in 2016. Back to N408LC in 2023.

This Hercules was leased by NWT for around two years. By the look of it, there were a lot of muddy landings happening as it worked in the North.

One of five Electras operated by Northwest Territorial, this one was in the fleet from June 1981 to January 1991. It was sold to Air Bridge Carriers in the UK to become G-FNWY. The aircraft has since returned to Canada in 2003 with Air Spray as air tanker 485 registered C-GZVM.

The NWT aircraft were very attractive in this livery.

One nice-looking Electra - almost got a very short ride on this beauty between Edmonton's Industrial and International airports, but the timing didn't quite work out. Started out as Eastern's N5524 in 2.59, to XA-FAM 12.72, N83MR in 5.79 and NWT in 6.81. Sold to ABC as G-FNWY 1.91 and wfu at EMA. Became N3209A with JBQ 12.91 and re-reg N351Q (Indian Ocean lease as VH-IOB ntu). Bought by Renown 6.96, stored at Roswell 10.00 and back to Canada for fire tanker conversion with Air Spray as C-GZVM in 8.02

Originally Eastern Airlines N5524, this Electra came to NWT in 1981. When NWT was bought by Air Canada in 1987, the L-188 got this new color scheme as an Air Canada Connector. The airplane was sold to Air Bridge Carriers in 1991 and NWT itself was sold to First Air and merged with them in 1997. It returned to Canada in 2003 with Air Spray and was eventually re-fitted as an air tanker.
