In 1984 Air Atonobee was acquired by former Nordair vice president Victor Papallardo. The airline was re-branded as City Express. As new DHC-8 and Dash 7s were delivered, the airline started replacing their ST-27s. C-FXOK, the second ST-27 converted, is pictured withdrawn from service and still in Air Atonobee colors. It was scrapped in 1991 after City Express stopped flying in February.

Delivered new to Canada 3000 in March 1991. Returned to lessor in January 2002. In April '02 to Cameroon Airlines, for 2 years (TJ-CAH). In 2005 to Astraeus (G-OPJB). returned lessor in October 2008. Converted to freigther in winter 2010 and delivered to FEDEX as N921FD, in March 2010.

I still remember taking this picture really well. Canada 3000 used to have only one flight a week to Amsterdam. Arriving and departing early morning on Sunday. I was never able to catch it using public transport from my house. This morning I arrived back at Amsterdam after a daytrip by bus to the ILA in Berlin. After spending two nights in a row in a touringcar I had finaly arrived early enough to catch the Canada 3000. I walked out to taxiway Q to see it taxi out to the runway for departure.

The Saunders ST-27 was a Canadian twin turboprop conversion of the four engined De Havilland Heron with some engineering input from British Air Ferries ,and was on a sales tour

The second of 13 of these twin-PT6A turboprop conversions of the de Havilland Heron, developed with some input from ATEL at Southend. This airframe had an illustrious history as it was previously Queen's Flight Heron C.4 XM295 delivered in 4.58. Went on to fly with Air Atonabee but all ST-27s were withdrawn by the early Eighties. The ST-28 was an unsuccessful development which was to be built from scratch due to a shortage of suitable Heron airframes

This ST-27 demonstrator was the second ST-27 conversion. Starting out as De Havilland Heron XM295 for the Royal Air Force Queen's Flight. First flight a an ST-27 was March 27, 1970, the aircraft was broken up after retirement from Air Atonabee/City Express airlines in 1988.
