Delivered in 1998 to leasing company Penbroke Capital as N102UN & leased in 1999 to Germania as D-AGEY. Was sub-leased to Azzurra Air from 2001 to 2003 & sub-leased to Maersk Air from 2004 to 2005 when it was transfered to the airline as OY-MLY. Some months later the airline merged with Sterling European Airlines where the aircraft stayed until beeing sold to Gol Linhas Aereas in 2006 as PR-GIF. Was STD & B/U at TUS IN 2016. Sold in Australia as VH-UYA. Engine reliability problems resulted in the operator cancelling the lease. The aircraft was shipped back Germany in August where it became D-AREY. The photo shows it arriving in Australia at the end of its three-week delivery flight. An engine failed just before landing resulting in it swinging off the runway. D-AGEY became bogged and a tractor and manpower was used to extract it. It took about five weeks before a replacement engine arrived from Germany by sea. Photo from: Library and Archives NT
