Ex 42-93271 and KG572. Bought by Derby Aviation in April 1961 and sold to Gregory Air Services in May 1965, leased by them for a short period in 1967 to Emerald Airways as EI-ARR. Flew in Africa from August 1968 as VQ-ZJB, 3D-AAH, A2-ZHR and ZS-KAT. Joined the Rhodesian AF in January 1978 as R3700 and became 3700 with the Zimbabwe AF in April 1980. Withdrawn and stored at Manyame by February 1998 it was one of five ex Zimbabwe AF C-47s transported by road to Wonderboom in July/August 2017. Registered to Preferred Air Parts as N568PT and cancelled from the US register in May 2023

Another load of passenger's luggage heads for BEA's "Pionair" Class Dakota for a UK internal flight. G-AKJH served the RAF in Southeast Asia during WW2 as KG572. It served BEA from November 1950 until April 1961. Another BEA Pionair and an "Admiral" Class Vickers Viking 1B are also on the apron with an Aer Lingus Dakota at far left. Donald Douglas's DC-3 still reigned supreme in those days!
