Delivered to the RAN in February 1949, this C-47 was ex 42-92711 and served with 851 Sqdn, fitted out as a flying classroom to train Sea Venom and Gannet observers. The extended nose carried A117 and ASV radar. After 3181 hours accumulated, it was withdrawn from use in 1970 and allocated to the Museum in 1976
