That's how you do a take-off, close together, full afterburner! F3 ZE168 made its first flight on 31 October 1986 and was delivered the RAF and assigned to 229 OCU on 18 November 1986. It served most F3 squadrons within the RAF and made its last flight on 24 March 2011 from Leuchars to Leeming. It was then stored at Leeming and eventually scrapped by March 2015. Its cockpit section was saved, which was sold to a private owner on Isle of Wight. That section them moved to Jet Art at Thorpe Wood by September 2016. Last reported as sold to a private owner in North Yorkshire.

"Scimitar 11" taxies out from its Hardened Aircraft Shelter complex carrying a 2,250 litre drop-tank under each wing, otherwise known as "Lima Fit".

"Scimitar 11" about to touchdown after a rare weekend training sortie, which included a flypast over Edinburgh's Military Tattoo. 111 (F) Squadron were enjoying their last few months operating the RAF's last Tornado F3s.

Wearing the markings of its recently disbanded operator, 11 (F) Squadron, this F3 appears to carry two small mission symbols just below the forward cockpit.

Although carrying 23 Sqn markings, this was a 25 Sqn aircraft based at Leeming, as 23 Sqn was disbanded in February of the same year. Frequent exchanges of aircraft between squadrons led to the omission of squadron markings.
