Heavily armed and returning to its parking spot at Kandahar. Apparently, the weapons load was not necessary during this mission. ZD352 was first flown on 22 October 988 and delivered to the RAF as a GR5 on 7 December 1988. It was later converted to GR7 and GR9A. Withdrawn from use in December 2010, stored at RAF Cottesmore and moved to the 309th AMARG in early 2012. The Harrier was used as a spare part for USMC Harriers. It was eventually sold as scrap to HVF West, Tucson (AZ) by August 2023.

Rolling down to a Special Forces secured area at Kandahar. The a/c made its first flight on 2 Mar'83, delivered on 28 Mar'83 to 32sq at RAF Northolt. ZD704, together with some 80 US Army aircraft, was damaged by a huge hailstorm on 13 Apr'13 while parked at Kandahar. The BAe125 was deemed unable to fly, and was transported back to the UK with US help. Assessment showed it was damaged to be beyond economical repair. ZD704 went into storage at St.Athan and was moved to RAF Manston as an instructional airframe with the Defence Fire Training & Development Center. Last noted at Newquay in late '23

Returning to its parking spot at Kandahar without a weapons load. Earlier that day, the Harrier possibly supplied a headache to someone. ZD380 was first flown on 11 November 1988 and delivered to the RAF as a GR5 on 6 December 1988. It was later converted to GR7 and GR9A. Withdrawn from use in December 2010 and sold the the US Marine Corps at MCAS Cherry Point (NC) for spares. Last noted there in April 2012.

FMS serial 66-8550 was delivered to the Lyneham Transport Wing on 29 July 1967. It was damaged Cat.1 on 27 August 1999 when it got stuck in mud at a landing zone near Shawbury (UK). But as a good workhorse, the Herc was repaired by Marshalls at Cambridge and returned to service. It is seen here in take-off from the single runway of Kandahar during an Operation Herrick mission. The C1 made its last flight on 18 April 2013 from Brize Norton to St.Athan, was stored and stripped for spares. Then it was sadly scrapped by 2017.

While a large part of the fuselage is from LZ844 this aircraft contains parts from a number of Mk VIII wrecks and some new build items. The R-R Merlin is from a Mosquito and the propellor blades were said to be from a Barracuda.
