The excellent HAL Museum in Bangalore shows the history of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, the Indian aircraft manufacturer. The Hindustan HUL-26 Pushpak was a 1950s Indian two-seat cabin monoplane designed and built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), based on the Aeronca Chief. Around 160 aircraft were produced for Indian flying clubs for use as basic trainers. Two examples were gifted to Malaysia and were later sold to private pilot owners in the UK. The excellent HAL Museum in Bangalore shows the history of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, the Indian aircraft manufacturer, and this HUL-26 is proudly displayed in the main pavillion.

The excellent HAL Museum in Bangalore shows the history of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, the Indian aircraft manufacturer. One of the prize exhibits is the first jet fighter built in India, the HAL HF-24 Marut. Designed in the 60s and 70s by German aeronautical engineer, the Marut served with the Indian Air Force until the late 80s. Two-seat trainer Marut Mk1T D1695 poses here as D1698.

The excellent HAL Museum in Bangalore shows the history of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, the Indian aircraft manufacturer. The second jet fighter designed in India, after the HF-26 Marut, is the Light Combat Aircraft - named Tejas. A mock-up of the prototype with serial KH2001 can be found with the collection.

The HJT-36 is the fruit of the Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) programme (as can be read on the nose), aimed to replace the HJT-16 Kiran with the Indian Air Force. The HJT-36 was officially named "Yashas" during Aeroindia 2025. The HJT-36 has a long development history and parts of the aircraft had to be redesigned. The replica shown here shows the old tail configuration.
