Established 1984, the University of Tennessee (UT) Medical Center LifeStar HEMS program is currently operating two EC135 and three Bell 407 helicopters from 5 bases strategially located in a circle around Knoxville. The bases and callsigns are: Morristown (UT Lifestar 1), Rockwood (UT Lifestar 2), Sevierville-Gatlinburg (UT Lifestar 3), Jacksboro (UT Lifestar 4) and Sweetwater (UT Lifestar 5). Little information is available where this brand new and stunning looking H130 will be based and which aircraft it will replace, and/or if more units are on order.

Originally delivered to ERA Helicopters as N512LD in January 2007, this A109E Power is maintained by Precision Aircraft Services for the Meriwether County Aviation Task Force. The helicopter works with the Meriwether County Sheriff's Department in the state of Georgia covering Merriwether County's 503 square miles for search and rescue and other critical missions.

Former US Army 86-24511, this Blackhawk was registered to KIT Helicopter Operations in May 2024, and has the KIT HeliOps logo on the cowling. Founded in 2019, KIT Helicopter Operations began adding Blackhawks to their fleet in 2022 to offer light, medium, and heavy lift capabilities to external load and firefighting clients.

What can not be seen in this picture is the latest purpose of this helicopter: firefighting! During the VAI Verticon 2025 show, N850AR was presented with a 5000 Liter / 1320 US-Gallon watertank developped by australian company Helitak. VIH Helicopters, together with Milestone Aviation, is pioneering the use of former Oil&Gas S-92's in the firefighting role and received FAA certification for the expandable, belly-mounted tank in 2024. Thanks to the civilian certification of the S-92, the cabin can be used to transport firefighters, a privilege e.g. a civilized ex US Army UH-60 doesn't have.

As of March 2025, Air Center Helicopters - founded in 1982 - operates among others some 20 EC225 / H225 helicopters for various US Government contracts. To name a few, the US Navy uses the helis to carry out Vertical Replenishment (VERTREP) of its vessels, while in 2022, the USAF selected ACH to train its Pararescuemen in offshore rescues. N576AC is a 2012 built airframe initially flying for Bristow as G-ZZSK and joined ACH in November 2018. It has seen at least two overseas deployments: one to the Bahamas in 2019 after Hurricane Dorian and the 2nd to Niger, West Africa around April of 2022.

Seen here lifting off after the Verticon 2025 show is the 1st AW169 of Parkview Samaritan. It is based in Rochester, Indiana since September 2024 and operates as "Samaritan 2". It was announced during the mentioned Verticon exhibition that Parkview ordered a 2nd AW169 for a planned delivery in the 2nd quarter of 2026. The new heli is destined to replace the current "Samaritan 1", a 1991 built AS-365N2 with c/n 6425 and registration N89SM. "Samaritan 1" is based at the Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Until recent, the Kern County Fire Department was relying on two fomer US Army UH-1's. With the introduction of this 2024 built Bell 412EPX in December of 2024, one of the old UH-1's nicknamed "Helicopter 408" (registered N408KC) was officially retired the same month. The KCFD operates out of Keene Heliport southeast of Bakersfield, California. It is believed that the 2nd UH-1 (registered N407KC), is still active and will be operated alongside the new state-of-the-art Bell 412, which is equipped with a DART "Fire Attack" water tank and snorkel.

In July 2024, Airbus delivered the 1st of four H160 to PHI, marking the beginning of this helicopter type's operation in the US. N672P - shown here departing the VAI Verticon 2025 Exhibition - is the 2nd production H160. After a trial, training and introduction phase of some 300 flight hours, PHI started to operate the H160 commercially for oil giant Shell on March 6, 2025, becoming the first operator worldwide to use the type for offshore missions. PHI's other H160's are registered N673P, N674P and N675P, and all four are / will be based at Houma-Terrebonne Airport.

Previously registered JA9683 and C-FHTS, N724HT is now with Australia's largest Heli-Aviation Company, McDermott Aviation. Having acquired the type certificate and remaining Bell 214ST stock from Erickson Air Crane, the company is planning to restart production of the big utility helicopter.

Operated by Metro Aviation, based in Shreveport, Louisiana, provides helicopter charter, flight training, and maintenance operations. The company's Aircraft Completion Center facility modifies helicopters for Air Medical, Law Enforcement, and VIP/Corporate use. They also provide helicopters and flight crews (non-medical) for hospitals across the USA. This recently equipped aircraft was on display at Heli-Expo 2017 before entering service in Louisiana as N83EL 2017 - 20. The helicopter is current as C-GTUQ with the province of Quebec's Airmedic.

This former Era Helicopters Airbus EC 225 LP (N602JS) flew offshore and later in support of the US government in Afghanistan. Today, it's one of about a dozen EC 225s operated by Air Center Helicopters on US government and commercial contracts. At Heli-Expo 2022 it was displayed is fire fighting configuration with a belly tank and water bucket. Air Center is based at Spinks Airport, Burleson, TX. It's ex-F-WJXM, F-HUMB, F-WTAB and N602JS. Airbus chartered a second EC 225 to fly its Heli-Expo guests between the Dallas Vertiport and the Airbus Helicopters plant at Grande Prairie Airport.

The AS350BB is a version of the AS350 B2 ordered by the UK MoD in 1996 to equip the new Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS) established at RAF Shawbury in 1997. Thirty-four were delivered and powered by a derated Arriel 1D1 turboshaft. Thirty surplus AS350BBs were exported to Canada, with 15 going to Panterra Helicopter Support in Beamsville, Ontario and 15 to Tempest Aviation Group in Kelowna, BC. The 350BB is not listed on the FAA or Transport Canada type certificate so most were reduced to spare parts. This ex-Panerra Squirrel HT.1 is ex-G-BXLE, ZJ276, G-BXLE and N61MC.

This new Kaman K-1200 K-Max for Mountain Blade Runner was displayed on the Kaman trade show booth at HAI Heli-Expo 2022 held March 9-11, 2022 in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas, Texas. It wore the customer registration N970MB when it was on display but had the Kaman flight test registration N12001 re-applied when it flew out of the Convention Center heliport (TX55) after Heli-Expo on the afternoon of March 10.

Guimbal Cabri G2 departing Heli-Expo 2022. This aircraft was sold by US distributor Precision Helicopters to a private owner in Keizer, Oregon and delivered in late 2021. As of March 2022, there were 34 Cabri G2 registered in the US and seven in Canada with the majority operated by flight training schools.

This new Robinson R44 Cadet for the UND Aerospace - University of North Dakota departs Heli-Expo 2022. UND bought it to replace UND's first R44 Cadet which recently achieved 2,200 flight hours and required a factory overhaul. UND's flight training school operates five R44 Cadets. The cadet is a two-seat version of the four-seat R44 with lower operating costs for the pilot flight training role.

HAI Heli-Expo 2022 was held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, Dallas, Texas on March 9-11. More than 35 helicopters were on display that flew into the TX55 heliport located on the south side of the convention center on March 4-5 or arrived by road. This Robinson R66 was one of the first to fly-out on March 11-12 after Heli-Expo ended. The nearby Dallas CBD Vertiport was also utilized for flight demos during the show.

Colombia Helicopters bought this Chinook in January 2014, civilianized (in the restricted category) and registered it in August. Originally US Army CH-47C 67-18533 (cn b-503), the helicopter had been rebuilt as CH-47D 89-0138 and assigned an new cn. Columbia also owns the type certificates for the Boeing-Vertol 107 and Boeing-Vertol Model 234.

Sky Helicopters Inc operate this Newscopter version of the R44 for Texas television station KXAS Channel 5 in Dallas, TX.

One of two Mil-24 Hinds kept air worthy by the Cold War Air Museum located in Lancaster, Texas. The museum closed to the public at the end of 2017.
