The owner was attempting a flight across the country from his base at Strathmore, Alberta, taking in a fly-by appearance at the annual Red Lake Norseman Festival en route. Unfortunately, this effort had to be terminated at Red Lake Airport after the fly-by, where the aircraft parked. Effectively entered open storage there, where it still sits, now for sale, as recently as late 2021.

One of three Superior Airways Navajos, each in a different main colour, lined up in a row in front of their hangar at Red Lake Airport. Six months later, on 8 January 2010, while on a flight from Red Lake with 14 on board, landed at Bloodvein River Airport, Manitoba, with the undercarriage still retracted. No injuries. Airframe substantially damaged.

Six months later, on 8 January 2010, while on a flight from Red Lake with 14 on board, landed at Bloodvein River Airport, Manitoba, with the undercarriage still retracted. No injuries. Airframe substantially damaged.

The stowed cargo behind the open freight doors appeared to be a very substantial chest freezer, or at least a large refrigeration unit of some kind - its bottom right hand corner can just be seen beneath the wing's trailing edge. Written off in an accident at North Spirit Lake, Ontario in 2000. I last saw its remains a few years later in the scrap area of Kuby's Yard, Kenora, Ontario.
