Built in 1957 then sold to Indian Airlines as VT-DOI in January 1962. Withdrawn from use in March 1971 and scrapped.

Fred Olsen's Commandos were a regular part of the Southend scene in the Sixties but I was lucky to capture this one on what was probably my first ever roll of Kodachrome. This 1944-vintage example was bought by the Norwegian line as far back as 11.57; sold as XW-PHM in 6.71 and resident in SE Asia till broken up at Seletar in 1979 as N336CA

Built as a C-46A for the USAAF as 42-96595. Converted to C-46R and operated by Olsen on freight work between November 1957 and May 1971. Also seen in this line up are LN-FOR and LN-FOP (farthest).
