Inside the hangar at Fantasy of Flight. The Nardi FN.305 was designed as a trainer and liaison aircraft, first flying on 19 Feb 1935 with an inline engine. The main production variant was a two-seater, with single-seat variants also produced. The FN.305 was used by Italy, France, Hungary, Romania, Chile and the Luftwaffe. The long-range FN.305D was powered by a 200 hp Walter Bora engine, one of which was used to set a record between Rome and Addis Ababa in March 1939, covering 4463.8 km at an average speed of 240 km/h. This aircraft served Regia Aeronautica as MM380 before civilian use.

Three prototypes and 208 production aircraft were built by Piaggio up till 1943, Nardi's premises not being big enough for this work. The type was also supplied to Romania (which also licence-built them), Chile, Hungary and France.
